I had a dream last night that me and my mum were on a lifeboat in Australia and I had my phone in my hand trying not to get it wet. My mum pulled me underwater to touch the bottom of the ocean so we could spring back up. My phone survived though. What does this mean?

I have this dream often, just without the phone. Dreams are images and imagery, thoughts, sounds and voices, and subjective sensations experienced when we sleep. This can include people you know, people you've never met, places you've been, and places you've never even heard of. Sometimes they're as mundane as recalling events that happened earlier in the day.
They can also be your deepest and darkest fears and secrets, and most private fantasies. There's no limit to what the mind can experience during a dream and really no rhyme or reason to what you end up dreaming about. Stresses in waking life can manifest in dreams plainly or be cleverly disguised with imagery.
So if your moms dragging you down you might feel that your mom is being to protective. I wouldn't be able to say for sure but if you think about it there are TONS of interpretations that can come from any dream.
Sometimes we just have crazy dreams, and we have no explanation for why or where they came from. Your dream just sounds like a random dream that came up out of nowhere. But don't worry too much or anything, it's very normal. :)
