Honestly? There is nothing particularly great about humanity.

You should care because you are part of it. Isn't that enough?

Humanity is unique in the world. No other creature is comparable to humanity. And, there is little humanity in humanity. Figure that one out.

Consider music, various arts, science, medicine and war. Do you think chimps would ever have an Internet? Bad example. The Internet isn't that big a deal.

-That we have such a colossal cerebrum.

-That we are so small but we are fortunate to live on a planet with resources, within the Goldy-Locks zone, with other people, with higher thinking processes at place.

-That we are conscious about our existence.

Why should you care?

I care because most of the people are literally sick, disturbed and quite a lot of people (I'd go as far as to say 90% of the planet) suffer from seriously bad situations. If you do not care, then what makes it that other people care (if you have that problem, clearly many thousands of others do too), but if you were to care, you would be doing something good and potentially make a positive difference. It doesn't matter if you feel that there is no chance or God or goal, the fact that you are trying is enough. It should be general knowledge that once someone sees that you are doing something good, the world is on your side. In the same vein, if you doing something evil, the world is against you.

The human specie is still at the ''teenager phase'' like most teenagers, be go somewhere, we are always partying and abusing from good things, don't give a rat **** about others aside maybe from friends, we don't really give a **** about if we pollute the places we go, we are stupid, buttheads, etc. We are not ready and not responsible and most of all. We can become as bad as we can be good.

And if we don't make the good choices, it could get really ugly.

Nothing is great about humanity, there are great individuals among us but nothing at all makes the whole of humanity great. I could list a number of reasons but that would be pointless if your mind is already made up.

In the context of the expanse of the universe and time the universe has existed, humanity is insignificant.

We should care however, because it's what we experience.

Because when you stop caring for anyone but yourself, you lose your soul. You see as humans we need each other all the time; we share our happiness, grief and pain to be able to feel its full extend on our life and relationships with other people. The life without anyone to share it with becomes a wasteful exercise.

We were brainwashed that we had to contribute and even sacrifice for humanity, but when you enter the workforce, your realize it's all a lie, so you don't have to care anymore, because nobody cares.

Because the world would be sad without Thomas.
