hi im 23yrs old and im having some chest pains mostly on my left side near my breast bone. i went to the doctor and they prescribed famotidine (pepcid) i took it for a few months but it wasnt helping much. i went back recently and they prescribed me prilosec. ive been taking it for a few weeks now and still having pain. he says i have GERD. some symptoms i feel are: pain on the left side of my chest, stomach movements, lump in my throat, dizziness, lightheaded, lower back pain mostly on the left side, tingling feelings to my limbs. what else can i do to relieve the pain and are all those symptoms related to GERD?

bro, they did the same thing to me kept prescribing me PPI pills,. you know ive found out now that GERD is the most misdiagnosed medical condition there is, often its not too much stomach acid , its that we are producing too LITTLE stomach acid,... there is a way to find out, you can have a test done, or you can take a pill or two of beatine HCL with food, if you feel burning in stomach that means you have enough stomach acid, (start with 1 pill) if you dont feel any burning that means you are low in stomach acid and these PPI pills you are on are just making it worse! also, this could be nothing to do with stomach acid, you could be having anxiety/panic type attacks/symptoms. msg me if u want further detail/advice.

don't eat foods with lots of acid (like citrus)
if your symptoms are at night, don't eat right before you go to bed. eat a few hours before you lie down.
there are other drugs as well, like nexium, so you can ask your doctor about those
Check your blood sugar. Don't eat late.
