Well don't lift weights because you're still growing. Too much weight on the joints is bad. Don't run on treadmills because they don't simulate real running. Train with and without her. In you're spare time go on runs. You're run distances should be about 1-4 miles, run a course you've planned ahead of time. Also everybody needs a good finish so work on some speed work at the track, run 300m 85% wait 10 seconds then run the last 100m full out. Also run 100m top speed and walk the rest of the lap, these will help with the finish. I'm not a fan of extreme dieting but I am a fan of eating healthy. Cut out candy, soda, chips, so basically junk food. Track the number of calories you eat in a day, and eat lots of veggies, lean meat (preferably chicken), cook with olive oil, eat pasta or other foods with a lot of grains and drink lots of water. Also if you do beat her don't go and boast, be sure to give her a big hug after she finishes and tell her she did great. I mean you might get the time you want but you don't want to lose her.
If you'll run a mile in five:fifty eight you must be equipped of going for walks 5k in good underneath 22 minutes. You must be watching at a time within the area of 18:38. Have a appear on the speed chart within the hyperlink underneath.I take it you will have a well teach judging via your occasions. You quite often have already got the educational in position. Do you do 1k efforts? By this I imply 6x1k efforts with one million min recuperation among efforts. You're watching at each and every attempt quicker than race speed. Then there may be 6x1 mile efforts with identical recuperation. 8x800m identical rests is a incredible consultation for constructing your velocity for the 5k. To my brain it is without doubt one of the hardest periods going however so pleasurable to whole.
If you're 14 I'm guessing here...youre not that muscly? I could be wrong, but train your leg muscles, build them, you have an advantage over females as your testosterone levels are higher and you can improve and build quicker and easier. Eat chicken and pasta and eggs in your day. Bananas too. Train without her. Your time is fantastic btw and hers. I don't know if you have access to a gym or weights. If not, start hill running, but walk down the hills, sprint to the top, never stop going up, this will improve your stamina and help develop strength whilst getting your body used to exercising while its tired. Good luck you can do it :)
That had got to be a blow to your ego. I'd suggest practicing on the side (without her knowing), listening to music to get you motivated, and eating healthy. This is healty competition... love it
