I found like 4 different ways of saying dungeon in Spanish, but I don't know the difference between them. Can anybody clarify on this.
Dungeon n (underground prison cell) mazmorra nf
any prison: calabozo nm [the English word calaboose is derived from it]
prison in a castle: CU, SV, HN, Méx. bartolina nf
old word for dungeon: aljibe nm [from the Arabic]

You either say calabozo or mazmorra. Mazmorra is better as calabozo can also mean cell
