How long generally does xanax stay in your system?
I have to take a urine drug test on Tuesday, and I took 1mg of xanax this past Wed. and another 1mg on Thursday (which was yesterday). I have been taking total body purifier pills I got from Walgreens and I have been drinking lots of water and tea. I also plan on running this weekend to try and sweat it out. Does any of this work and is there a possibility I can pass this drug test on Tuesday without Benzo's showing up? Before these past two days, I hadn't took a xanax in over a month.

Xanax has a plasma half life of about 11 hours. So after 11 hours, 50% of the drug is excreted out into your urine (Xanax is primarily eliminated through the Urine). However there is another half life that isin't accounted for.
When you take a drug, there is no drug in tissues therefore drug flows into the tissues from the blood while being simulatenously eliminated by the kidneys. That is the first half life i just mentioned. Eventually there is equal amounts of drug in tissue and blood.However, your blood will continually eliminate drug through the kidneys thus drug moves from the tissues into the blood. This is the second half life and it ranges from days-years. That is why drug tests are almost perfect.
When it comes to fluids, think about it this way. When your dehydrated your urine is yellow and when your drink lots of water, your urine is clear. Clearly, drinking more water does not correlate to the amount of waste you remove. It is all seperately controlled. When it comes to anti-oxidants,they usually work in the liver. Xanax is eliminated in the kidenys. Also, drug tests would usually look for the most stable metabolite or molecule.
Because you took it over a month ago, I'm sure it would be fine.
Xanax and its metabolites are detectable in urine for about 14 days. If you have a valid prescription there shouldn't be a problem.
