I just bought a new house and I plan on getting high-speed internet, and probably the basic Comcast cable package. However, I'm trying to compare prices, and I don't know how much a regular line from verizon and dsl would cost. Any recommendations?

here is a website I've used when I moved into a now house.....just put your address ans zip code in the box and see who has the best offers in your area!!!
http://whitefence.com/
you can even connect your service thru this website!!
I will go with cable connection and phone service. Cable connection is a lot faster. DSL speed is limited to about 3MB. I went with Cable connection 5MB first then 10MB. With internet connection and phone service. My monthly service is a little under $100 per month. Comcast phone service is $30+taxes+Fed fees. This $30 a month, I can call anywhere in the USA at no extra charge. Verizon DSL was a little cheaper at 3MB compare to cable 10MB connection speed. That is the max speed they can offer. I think it was about $45 when I checked it out about six months ago. The extra $15 with cable internet connection is worth it. Comcast has a special for new customer when I signed up. Call them. Have you considered internet phone too like Vonage, $24.95 per month, no long distance charges. I girlfriend has it.
By the way, I also setup a secured wireless hub so that I can use my laptop anywhere in the house.
Good luck and enjoy your new home.
I went through Verizon and was paying over $100 a month. Then I switched to another company and am now paying Under $50 a month for the same services.
If you'd like their website, email me and I'll be happy to email you back with it. But that's about what you'd be paying through Verizon.
