Valentines day is coming up, and knowing me I like to plan a head of time. I have been struggling with finding a job, and recently got hired but I won't be starting until Valentines Day is over due to the fact the store I will be working at still isn't opened yet.
I always hear that the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. Me and my boyfriend will celebrate our year and a half anniversary on Valentines Day so I plan on cooking him something special because he deserves it. We currently live with his family whom he is close with, he has his own car, a stable job and he is in graduate school and he treats me how every woman deserves to be treated so of course I wan't to go all out on breakfast in bed, dinner and dessert.
For breakfast I am planning on making him some scrambled eggs with his favorite stuff in them, a heart shaped egg in a nest, biscuits and gravy and as weird as this may sound I am going to make him chocolate covered strawberries with the breakfast so he has a nice breakfast in bed before he heads to work and school.
Despite the fact it's Valentines Day and our year and a half anniversary I love his family dearly and I may only be 20 years old, but I am a VERY traditional person and I do not want to exclude them so I am making a family dinner. I was planning on making heart shaped chicken parmesan with spaghetti and shrimp scampi with garlic bread and steamed garlic asparagus.
For dessert, it's the main thing I am clueless on. I LOVE baking but when it comes to dessert I have the most complications. Last year I made him BBQ ribs with potatoes and mac and cheese with a homemade Reese's cake and in all honesty I don't know how I pulled that random cake together, but I did and he loved it. I don't like making the same thing over and over, I like to switch it up so he has new surprises to look forward to every year.
I was going to make him Hershey's cupcakes or a cake, he said he would prefer cake, but I feel like I make cake way to much, or I am clueless on what to add or make onto the cake or if I want to make a new dessert he has never had before. He is the type who enjoys "fancy" looking stuff. He loves Reese's, he loves chocolate but I want to make something that looks special to him and passes his "fancy" looking criteria lol. He isn't a picky person, but he isn't much into fruit besides Strawberries but he will be having strawberries with his breakfast, I don't think he is a fan of tarts so I need help people!
Also, a little less complicated recipes would be nice as well. Or if you have any great cake ideas, or anything else I should add on to breakfast or dinner would be very awesome! Or another cute thing to do for him (please no over-perverted comments) even though we are low on money and may be stuck in the house, I still want to do something special and romantic for him because I have been lacking showing my emotions, and it would make him very happy. Thank you!
