I'm in Leaving Cert now and I'm taking 7 subjects, all at higher level, the 3 compulsory ones; Irish, English Maths, & then German, Biology, Home Economics and Business. I didn't get the subjects I wanted in fourth year as German, Chemistry and Physics were all on at the same time and I would have liked to pick all three.
I want to study Medicine next year in university and I was just wondering how far behind I would be compared to the other students who have studied chemistry for the LC?
And is there anyone out there who has studied medicine without doing Chemistry in school prior?
P.S: Before anyone says something it IS possible to study medicine in Ireland WITHOUT Chemistry. (in UCD, NUIG & RCSI)

Chemistry is mainly difficult for people because it constantly builds on itself -- and if you slack off in one lesson, you will have trouble with the next lesson, and the next lesson, until it snowballs out of control and you are failing the class. Chemistry is a very cool science but it does require focus, and if you are focused, you will likely have no problems. I say go for it, it is useful for what you would like to do.
Chemistry can be very hard, if you are not interested in it. If you are interested in it it can be fun and easy.
