Sort of. Law and Order has to change the details so they don't get sued.. but they do use real stories. They just add a few twists. And they did use the Jaycee Lee Dugard story as a basis in an SVU episode but they changed it up a little. It's actually a double episode, the first part is called Locum and the second is called Bullseye.
at the same time as Carl Probyn married Jaycee's mom and followed Jaycee as his step-daughter, the interest for Kenneth Slayton (the organic and organic father) to pay baby help ended. Carl and Terry Probyn were married at the same time as Jaycee became about 7 years old.
