okay, well, I have an 01 mustang that my stepdad and mom bought for me for my 16th birthday last october. I absolutely LOVE it. my only problem is the whole audio thing. I don't know much about cars, so I'm probably going to sound like I don't know what I'm talking about... because I don't.
My reciever is an eclipse cd1000 that the previous owners had put in, and the mach 460 speakers. The audio sounds pretty decent, but the bass SUCKS. it tends to be all staticy and whatnot, and I usually have to turn the bass down all the way. My stepdad said its the speakers, as did my best guy friend, but I'm still not so sure.
Does anybody have an idea of what my problem may be?

you need to replace the speakers. i don't know the specifics on that vehicle. u will have to do some research online. i had a cd3000 in my ride for a long time. i just parted with it recently. damn good units
tim is right. if you really want bass youd have to get subwoofers and an amp to power that. my suggestion: replace the speakers (like tim said) but give them only highs (turn down the bass all the way) to prevent blowing them again. purchase subwoofers so that you can use those for bass instead.
