i am pretty sure my rabbit has the early phase of ear mites, its black and crusty DEEP in the ear but i can see it, it hasnt spread up the ear but the fur behind his neck and around his ear seems a little roughed up and patchy.. i think its because he was scratching.. ive heard mineral oil can help... is that baby oil? but i dont want to do anything like that and i just want to take him to the vet.
but my question is, would baby oil work?
i tried to put it once today but he wont sit still and keeps shaking his head and getting rid of it.. i will just take him to the vet.. i dont know if i really should though because there are many people saying that home remedies work..
anyone with prior experience with home remedies?
anything i should do before taking him to the vet if thats what i need to do?
anything i can buy over the counter that i can just put in his water or something?

Just take him to the vet. Mites are very nasty and painful. They can also cause ears to stink if not treated.
