Im looking for answers about this - a soon to be relative has 'decided' shes a Pagan Witch. She has been 'casting spells' on people and say she is going to do this and that with her Powers, I don't know much about it so any links or web sites etc to find out about this would be great. Most helpfull gets the BIG 10. You can't argue without a good argument!!

From the point of view of someone that is Wiccan sounds to me like she is a wannabe because 'it sounds cool'. Sorry, most of us know better than to do that kind of stuff because of the possibility of it backfiring on us. There is more, A LOT MORE, to Wicca than spells. As a matter of fact most Wiccans never do spells. But here are some sites to look at.

Hmmm...she sounds more like a dabbler than an actual Pagan. There are a lot of religions classified under the term Pagan so I'm not sure exactly what religion she claims to be.
If you're on speaking terms with her you might want to ask her what beliefs she holds. This may give you some insight as to what exactly she is practicing. Then you may have to do some searching on the internet.
Spells can work but trust me when I say that people with any real knowledge and skill in the subject don't try to flaunt power. This is what makes me think she isn't in it for real.
As far as websites go I'll give you some that don't put too much emphasis on specific religions. http://www.paganlibrary.com/introductory/modern_pa... is a FAQ page about Paganism in general. It also has some very basic information on witchcraft.
You may also want to try http://www.ecauldron.com/newpagan.php It's got some pretty basic information along with a host of links to more specific information.
I hope this information helps you.
Ok, firstly, all the people metioning Wicca, isn't that unrelated to Witchcraft?? Witches don't all follow many of the ideas and rules etc, practised by witches. Some Witches DO practice what might be termed "spells" But, they are all done by the rule "An' Harm it none do what thou will". Witches "spells" are a simple form of the "modern" idea of mind over matter, believe in something strongly and focus your energy on it and it will happen, this isn't just metaphysical energy, it is physical.
The best thing for your relly, would be to hook her up with some good pagan books and websites, witchvox.com is a good start with hundreds of links, and let her read up on the true meanings of the different ideas behind paganism, and there are some great websites for explaining witchraft and paganism to teens and young adults on there.
Don't try and argue her out of it, try and help her better understand what it's all about, and whether it is what she truly wants/believes in.
hello crimson sea. well, there is many forms of Paganism and Witchcraft. Paganism is a general term to earth religion based, but for the mainstream that means "anyone that is not christian". Witchcraft is also a general term of practices, mainly that occurred in Europe before Christianity. Some have a religion system, others don't. First of all, tell her that she can't be a witch by books, this only can achieved by a hard training with other witch. She can be pagan, since this doesn't requires an specific religious system or training. Second of all, tell her that even in this mystical path, all act return with the same force but in opposite way.

Okay, Pagan Witches sounds bad, In the ancient days the earth wome of that time were true earth spirits and were in hamony with the earth we live on. They were called Wickers and yes, they cast speels. The basis for being alive is What you think-Is. By using energies from the earth in the wey of plants and other herbs, you could make up a frequency that when cast with mind thoughts energy, affect who it was directed to. Witches have been looked upon an being bad and evil. Well some are of course, and many are into healing the earth people. Your friend is either doing one of two things. She is looking for power and attention because you are seen in her eyes as being better and you are not taking notice of her, she has less self esteem than you. Or she has been enmeshed by some negative energy which is using her to cause an upset among her freinds, as the earth end time snear there are some nasty spirits trying to casue upsets and disharmony among people who wnt to get on with living life without upseting anyone else. Ask her why she has chosen witchcraft and why she wants to cast speels on people. She might be lacking love and feels empty while her friesn are happy.

I know alot about it myself, just send a message and I could probably explain alot in detail on it. Pagan Witch is usually a peaceful type of witch, but technically not wiccan, nor a witch. They do not use spells, usually they are herbal users, and other stuff with the earth around them. Wiccan or witches use spells and probably don't work anyways since with the way this world works now its best to put it than 90% don't believe in witches and place any incident that could have been made by witches as pure luck whether its good or bad.
Well, for one thing, it's generally frowned upon in Pagan circles to run around flaunting your "powers" and casting spells all willy nilly. The basic laws of (successful) spellwork are "To Know, To Dare, and To be Silent." Many witches believe that talking about magick scatters the energy. Whether this is true or not, I can't say. I have always erred on the side of caution and only discuss my workings after they've taken effect.
Many people turn to Paganism as a way to shock other people or to rebel, especially since it's become fashionable with young people of late. It sounds like this person may be one of them, or at the very least, she hasn't learned enough yet to be dangerous. Usually by the time someone has, she's found the religion and morality to go along with it. But even if they don't, the negative consequences of their workings snuff them out pretty quickly. Be aware though that as much as people like to think it, the Wiccan "harm none" clause doesn't apply to everybody. In fact, it doesn't apply to most Pagans, only Wiccans. This doesn't mean that most Pagans run around harming folks either. You have to weigh the result against the greater good, and sometimes you have to take a bullet. Casting harmful spells almost always brings harm to the caster as well.
You can find info about Paganism on my website here

If your worried she might be harming you and yours, you can find some very simple protection spells here.

However, magic is simply one will against the other. If your will is stronger than hers, she can't do a thing to you. As I tell the younguns who come to me seeking love spells- "love spells only work on men whose wills are weaker than yours. Wouldn't you rather have a real man?"
To keep yourself strong and resistant, keep a positive attitude, stay away from addictive substances (and situations) and eat right and exercise. In other words, healthy, happy, self-confident people are largely immune to the effects of negative magick.
Tell her that if she uses her powers for evil it will rebound on her. These powers are a two edged sword, whatever you do will come back to you. Check out anything Wiccan, the book Power of Woman, if it is still in print, any of the Celtic Stag Rituals, especially the Stag Dances leaving the empty space for God, Mayday Rituals, Yule rituals, Hypnosis and the power of suggestion. There are some very good Buddhist texts on Geomancy, unlike the Feng Shui nonsense these actually explain the "DARK" side of geomancy and why you should not do it. Myself I would tell her she has no real power in this world, and in the world beyond she is destroying her ancestors.
i am a high priest of wicca and there are a lot of good sources. in physical reality go to barnes and noble or your local bookstore and look in the new age section and you will find great books on wicca and witchcraft. true magick by scott cunningham is a great starter for the complete neophyte. other good authors for wicca are, dorothy morrison, amber k, silver ravenwolf, raven grimmasi, ann moura, the myspace for pagans is the witches voice at
www.witchvox.com another good site is www.circlesanctuary.com nearly all good sites like yahoo have groups to pagan or wicca worship. there is a contact me in my profile for more info if you want it. i am also a tarot reader.
That does not make her a pagan, witches DO NOT cast spells on other people, its breaks the basic wiccan threefold rule.
she watches too much tv, she needs to seriously grow up.
