Hey guys and girls,
I am confused on precision of measurement.
Can you guys help me on place value.
Okay.
So let's start
Ruler A, is a simple ruler with marks that are 1 centimeter apart.
What is the lowest place value of the objects on the markings of ruler A? 1 (I got that one)
Make a measurement (include units):
What is the place value of the estimated digit?
I am confused on place value. Just make up a imaginary measurement and show me how to do it. :(

Quick lesson. Imagine a target. You shoot 5 arrows, They all form a tight group just left of center. The precision would be the tight group. They all landed close to each other. The accuracy would be how close you were to te bulls-eye. The closer the more accurate.
In measurement, precision is how confident you are in repeating your measurement.
Take your 1 cm ruler. You can accurately and precisely measure 1 cm increments. Anything that falls between will need to be estimated. In 1 cm you probably could easily estimate 5mm.(1/2 way). And you could probably estimate half of that 2.5mm. And again half of that 1.25 mm. After that it gets hairy, So in 1 cm you probably could precisely measure to 2mm or multiple of. so your units would be 2mm or .2 cm
If you can measure precisely at 1 cm marks to take a measurement, you estimate one decimal more. Say it is directly between, 10 cm and 11 cm, you would estimate 10.5 cm as the measurement.
The idea is that while it is not a precise measurement, it is more accurate to estimate an extra decimal place than taking the measurement only at precise marks.
