Safe spider repellent?

my daughter and i are seriously afraid of spiders and we have huge ones in our basement where she sleeps and the spiders are. I've looked into spider repellents before but they are all unsafe around children or animals, which i have both of. I would like to know a safe spider repellent good around children and pets. I would also like to know where to buy it and if possible the cost. Thank you so very much.

Here's a few things that worked for me:

Spiders do not like Eucalyptus Oil..sprinkle it everywhere. It is non-toxic, and smells great. You will have to do it about once every two weeks.

Spiders are attracted to clutter, and cool places..hence the basement. Get rid of all cardboard and cardboard boxes. Store things in plastic or rubber. Get rid of any piles of old newspapers or papers, as spiders will nest in them.

Warm the basement up with a heater. Spiders also like damp, so invest in a dehumidifier.

Vacuum up the corners and crevices, and all spider, and cobwebs.
