Hey,im really confused on both of these topics and i wanted to ask what they were..i'll give you what i think they are and then please correct me if im wrong!
Sparcasist uprising: Sparcasist were similar to the communists. Led by Karl and Rosa. They wanted to take over Berlin and make the government Communism. The friekrops were led by wolf gang kapp, luderndorf and lurdenwitz, along side with a lot of the army, they ALSO wanted to take over berlin but made the government fascist,no-one doubted who would win because the friekorps had so much more power, the spartacists gradually gained more votes for seats but then the friekorps killed rosa and karl so it failed. PLEASE CORRECT IF WRONG.
Kapp Putsch: wolfgang kapp alongside luderndorf and lurdenwitz wanted to destroy berlin after the humiliation of the treaty of versailles. They nearly succeeded, but Ebert (the president of weimar) had to leave the country so the friekorps had more of a chance of taking over..ebert called a general strike of the working class. Nothing was running ie business etc. Then the friekorps fled and it failed!
Have i got them mixed up? Please tell me if i have,i really need to know. Thanks :)

Well it's mostly correct...but they were two different things 1 year apart not one related thing.
Here's some info you can fit in to your essay answer as you want.
1.) The new Wiemar government had been created Nov. 1918. The Wiemar government was all socialists. The communists (called Spartacists then in Germany) led by 'Karl and Rosa' used to be friends with the socialists but they wouldn't join the socialists in the new Wiemar government instead they wanted a 'communist revolution' and takeover.
The Freikorps were armed gangs (ex soldiers) they hated the communists and the socialists and wanted to overthrow Wiemar for a military dictatorship.
In Jan. 1919 (just 3 months after Wiemar started) Karl and Rosa and the communists (spartacists) tried to overthrow the government in the 'Spartacist Rising'. The socialist government hired the Freikorps to put down the communists by force which they did, it only took 2 weeks and they murdered Karl and Rosa and about 200 communists. That's the end of the Spartacist rising.
2.) One year later in March 1920 came the 'Kapp Putsch'....A German army General (Luttwitz) hired the Freikorps (then led by Hermann Ehrhardt) to overthrow the Wiemar government in Berlin for a military dictatorship. In this they were joined by Wolfgang Kapp a right wing German politician. The Freikorps attacked and caused (Ebert) head of the government and the socialists to flee before he got killed. But then the socialists and government called a general strike. Everyone supported the government and the general strike and no one sided with Kapp/ the Freikorps/ Luttwitz...so in only 2 days Ebert was back in Berlin.. and Kapp fled the country ending the Putsch.
Hope it helps..............
