If you're still under weight standards when you ship, you'll be put on double rations. Just means you get more to eat than other recruits but you'll still be worked just as hard.
If you want to gain weight fast, try the GOMAD diet (while working out, of course). You'll easily gain 6 pounds in 3 weeks if you stick to it. Look it up.
i was a little under when i joined. hard boiled eggs and weight gainer while working out worked for me. Also, you should eat more.
what branch are you joining? If i remember correctly they didnt weigh me in much unless i was taking pft in boot for the Marines. When you do go there... they will put you on double rations.

eat Protein and carbs... the more fat in the food, the better.
