I lost my mucus plug on Saturday morning and still no labor for me (I am 38 weeks, 5 days pregnant with my third). With my daughter, it was about a week, and with my son, I never lost it because I never started dilating and had to be induced. It doesn't really mean much, except that you are beginning to dilate. Some women go into labor within hours or days of losing their plug, others can go for a week or even longer.
It was about 15 hours for me but it varies from women to women and from pregnancy to pregnancy, but it definitely means you baby is gonna be here soon a week sounds a bit long to me most women go into labour about 24 hours after their waters breaking at most
