My son started sitting up unaided at around 5.5 months. He still has his days were he falls over, but now that he is 7 months he can somewhat go from sitting onto his belly.
Mine was just over 6 months. She can sit unaided but would much rather go off exploring and pull her self around the floor or be in her walker
Elyse started sitting supported around 4 months - now at almost 6 months she can sit by herself for a while but we always have pillows around her and are ready to catch her just in case. If she wobbles to the left or right she can adjust herself with her hands but sometimes she still spills backwards.
My baby is almost 6 months.. in a couple of days. Hes been trying for a while, but it wasn't until the past week that hes been able to sit by himself for more then a couple of sec. He does good if its on something soft, like my bed. But, on the floor as soon as he realizes hes sitting on his own he starts to tip and we have to catch him. So, hes still trying to get 'good at it'
My oldest was 11 mos before he could put himself in a sitting position, but my youngest was only 5.5 months. But the trend continued as they got older, my two year old didn't walk till 15 mos, my 11 month old has been walking for several weeks now...
my daughter was able to sit by herself at 6 mos but still was a little awkward and tends to flop backwards if there's no pillows around her..
she sat by herself with no support by 8 mos..
my DD was 5 mths and 10 days, my DS was 5 mths and 2 days, when they could sit really well for longer periods, started to sit briefly for a few weeks before this.
my son is 7 months old and doesn't sit up on his own. he sits on his own, but he doesn't go from laying down to sitting up in the action that is similar to us doing a sit up. he will sit up for a very long time once he is placed in a sitting position, but he cant get himself in that position without help.
what do DD and DS mean? thanks, i never know all these shortcut terms online... you'd think i would by now.
both of mine were 6-7 months. i helped them with a boppy at about 5 months, they would play without falling over, and they liked to see the "world" around them. those boppys are lifesavers sometimes, even if you never breastfeed.
9 months he started sitting by himself. my son spit up alot at first, but not at 4 months.
