Shelties should reach full height by no later than 12 months old - usually closer to 9-10 months.
They will, however, fill out for some time to come. They do not truly reach their adulthood until about the age of 2-2 1/2 years. While their body framework is finished growing, their musculature will continue to do so for quite some time. I read the answer from the person who said 14 months. I disagree. At 14 months, they are still puppies and have not settled into their "adult" bodies. By the age of 2-2 1/2 they are fully matured and their bodies are settled. Please make sure not to overfeed the dog in order to "bulk it up". Once it gets to the "adult" stage, make sure you cut down on the food if you need to. It is easy to overfeed and end up having to try to get weight off the dog...NO SO EASY!!!

Their frames (bones) usually stop growing at about 10 months, but they can continue to gain weight until they are about 14 months.
