The Only way for the Government to give you something is to take it away from someone else. How are we going to pay for all these programs? I'm getting tired of footing the bill...
Update:Thanks to all for your responses! To the man who claims to be a veteran. I consider what you recieve compensation for your sacrifice and not near enough. Thank you for your service it's deeply appreciated. To the ones who attacked me thats kind of what I would expect in the face of a logical question. Most of them caused me to chuckle thanks for adding humor to my day.

OMG! FREAKING AMEN AMEN AMEN. And the people above me need to realize, that it ADDS UP. And when you think about the thousands of people out there sitting on their tails, drawing unemployement, using up the tax dollars that were earned by hard- WORKING people it really does start to piss you off. Thank you for posting this question. Too bad they only hear what they want to hear though.
Yes but at the same time there is the problem of what happens if the government helps out no one. You'll end up paying by the entire system falling apart because there is nothing out there in the first place. Without certain programs, America would not have people who do the menial jobs that those who can afford much more rely on. Besides, you benefited from the government's give outs before, you can't tell me you didn't somewhere down the line, unless you're so rich you do everything privately. And even then, you benefit in a secondary manner.
Soon enough. The rich should pay. Capitalists exploit the majority of the worlds population. what you fail to understand is that in the current system all wealth is built on oppression and theft of the oppressed, the workers and poor. You don't care as long as you don't see it. Your wealth and luxury, everything you eat and drink, the car you drive, the toys you give your kids, the computer you are typing this incoherent nonsense on included, is built on misery and death of fellow human beings, I couldn't care less about your misguided "feelings". Gotta love it when conservatives asert "liberals" deal with life solely on an emotional basis like the poster below me but then refer to their "feelings" when trying to make a political point. You people really don't have a clue
Social programs in the current system are nothing but an insufficient band aid. What the world needs right now is socialism.
Capitalism, and the imperialist system that develops upon its economic foundations, is the main cause of human poverty, exploitation, violence and suffering in the modern world. As a system of socioeconomic organization, capitalism long ago exhausted its historically progressive role. The blood-drenched history of the twentieth century – with its two world wars, innumerable “local” conflicts, the nightmare of Nazism and other forms of military-police dictatorship, eruptions of genocide and communal pogroms – is an unanswerable indictment of the capitalist system. The number of victims claimed by capitalist-inspired violence runs into the hundreds of millions. And this figure does not include the consignment of the peoples of entire continents to unrelenting poverty, with all its attendant miseries.
The solution to the spreading economic crisis and the deteriorating social position of the working class lies not in the reform of capitalism, for it is beyond reform. The crisis is of a systemic and historical character. As feudalism gave way to capitalism, capitalism must give way to socialism. The key industrial, financial, technological and natural resources must be taken out of the sphere of the capitalist market and private ownership, transferred to society and placed under the democratic supervision and control of the working class. The organization of economic life on the basis of the capitalist law of value must be replaced with its socialist reorganization on the basis of democratic economic planning, whose purpose is the fulfillment of social needs.
The federal government grew exponentially during the Bush years while the country was in the hands of the conservatives. So much for fiscal responsibility. Hard to understand your rant aimed at liberals...
Please continue footing the bill.
If you don't what will happen to us?
I would love a job and a place to belong.
I am stuck here in this garage somebody lets me live in.
I only get out when the DAV van gets me to go to the hospital for appointments.
You are supporting me. For that I thank you.
But it is no great life of leisure.
I am barely eating.
I cannot buy the things I need.
I would rather have a place where I belong.
I would rather See people and have someone to talk to.
This life is like being a prisoner.
Thank you for all you do for us.
When are you going to understand that we are not taking it from someone else but everybody? For you to act like that there are many people that are benefiting from the few is being dishonest. And that money has to come from somewhere for things that need to get done. GROW UP.
Better get a bigger foot! Oh wait, they'd take that away too and give it to someone with no foot
They DO understand that. That's what defines liberalism: the belief that since ordinary people are government property, the ruling class gets to pick winners and losers and direct success and failure.
WOW. Yes finally!!
Its a shame that for the past eight years the government and President has taken from the citizens to fund war. I mean why do we give contracts to private militias at exorbiant costs to citizens when our military could do the same thing> WHat is up with that?
I am sick of footing the bill for their crap too man!
If I truly could accept the fact that you are and have been footing the bill, maybe I would understand.
