And I really hate it. Nicknames are awful for it in my opinion , my friends call me Carolina from time to time lol

And for Charlotte, I love that name

Caroline is a nice enough name, but most of the Caroline's that I know aren't such nice people. I don't know if that's just the ones I know though. Lina is a nickname I've seen used for Caroline too.

I like Charlotte the best out of the names you've chosen there, although there's no reason that Carly couldn't be used as a nickname for Charlotte, even if Charlie is more common than Carly. I have a friend who is called Charlotte who goes by Carly instead.

I think that Charlene is a more modern sounding name than the others, so if your aim is to be more modern, I'd go with that.

I like Carly better than Carol (it's the 21st century. no one under 40 is named carol). I have a friend who's name is Caroline but she has been called Liney for as long as anyone can remember (Line-ee). It might sound weird but to me it's normal lol. I also like Caroline all by itself. But not Charlotte or Charlene. I don't like those names.
