I will be living with a family when I study abroad in Spain. I have been told that it is customary to bring some gifts. One thing I was going to bring is a bottle of wine.
What wines do they prefer in Spain? And what is a good American wine I can bring?
Thanks... I know nothing about wine... :)

The most popular Spanish wine is Rioja (pronounced row-ha) and is widely consumed there. But, as a gift I would give something from my own country. There are, believe it or not, many fine and respected wines from the USA. As a gift I would suggest one of the following:
LaCrema....Pinot Noir from CA $32
Clos du Bose...Marlstone from CA $45
Dr. Konstandu Frank...Dry Reisling from NY $18
rather cost-effectual- get wine rings to slide on wineglasses. you will desire to be waiting to discover some that initiate at 10. they are little decorations so as that when a team of people are eating- they'd placed their ornament on their glass so they are going to comprehend which one is theirs. additionally, an ornamental wine stopper isn't that costly.
a good spanish rioja ...pronounced reeocka
"a good american wine" (bit of an oxymoron lol) but i'd go for a fruity californian pinot noir
screw wine give them a black dildo and a blow up doll. they'll like that alot more.
