Guess you could graph it on a piece of graph paper and find where the two lines intersect.
This intersection would give you an ordered pair, this looks like a system of equations to me.

(x, x-1) and (x, x+1) An ordered pair is (x, y) so since the first equation, y=x-1, you replace the y with x-1.
