1. Why do you pose this question to atheists in the religion section rather than posing it to scientists in the science section where it belongs?
2. What is the problem with neanderthals in holding an atheistic position? You must think they pose a problem to us?
3. Neanderthals was a failed species of early humans, failed in that they died out without being the progenitors of any later species (as far as we know, at least, though I suppose it is possible some of them interbred with our ancestors).
An alternative species of humans evolved in those regions. When homo sapiens migrated into those regions, they were able to survive better than Neanderthals, as they were more intelligent. Consequently we survived, they didn't.
New species evolve and compete all the time. The ones that are better adapted survive.
we shared a common ancestor species, some of that species moved out of africa into asia and europe and became neanderthals, some stayed in africa and evolved into modern man, after about 80,000 of living like Neanderthals modern mans brain kicked in to high gear and he moved north and within a short amount of time edge out quite easily the inferior species in Neanderthals.see very easy science is a good thing

I'd say the real question would be how do the devoutly religious explain neanderthals.

In short, what's your point?
An alternative species of humans evolved in those regions. When homo sapiens migrated into those regions, they were able to survive better than Neanderthals, as they were more intelligent. Consequently we survived, they didn't.

How do creationists explain neanderthals would be a better question

Creationist: how do YOU explain Neanderthals?
I thought god only made man and beast. Nothing in between.
So sad that you keep coming on here showing your ignorance!!
But at least you realize it is no use asking christians for an answer to such questions!!
Do keep up your wonderful posts that do so much to recruit people to atheism!!
Well, I think some users of this board explain our biological relationship with them by asking and answering questions in an insipid and inane tone.
What do you mean.
They used to exist.
Now they don't.
Thus goes the tale of the neanderthals.
What do you mean "explain"? How would anyone explain any extinct species?
You must be a Poe. Even your average AIG-lover is not as dumb as this
