I want to buy a laptop that will be good for school stuff, like word documents, going on the internet, those kind of things. But I also love games (Sims 2, San Andreas). Stuff like that. I'm not hardcore though. I won't be playing Halo until the early morning hours any time soon :P Just maybe two or three games loaded on, and it still be able to run efficiently. I'm looking in the $700 to $1,300 range. Any suggestions?

Try a Dell XPS 1530. The gaming versions are expensive, but I have a non-gaming version with 4 GB RAM, 256 graphics, 2.1 dual core processor, 160 GB HDD. Should be in your price range! It is designd specifically for gaming but it runs San Andreas very smoothly for me...
By the way, good taste in games, and remember to get GTA IV!
I would suggest a hp pavilion dv6871us entertainment notebook pc. I got mine at circuit city for 800 something after all the rebates. It came with a free scanner, copier, printer, wireless router, and somekind of software.
Its got a 320bg hard drive, 3g ddr2, and a nvidia geforce 8400 graphics card. I play CoD4, SWBF, BF:Vietnam, and many others, it works excellant.
