I've been checking out some video cards for my first build, ati Radeons mostly. But there are so many cards out there in my price range with good ratings. What confuses me is that some models like the hd 6670 is similar price as something like hd 5670. So which card is best? Also, $100 is really the tipping point, cannot go beyond it. Your opinions appreciated!

I don't know what they cost now but I bought the Sapphire HD5670 1gig ATI card at Newegg on sale for $59.00 and i'm able to play all the latest games at high settings...never any crashing problems for me.
Right now that price range is a bit of a struggle. The 6670 and 5670 are almost identical cards.
It really comes down to personal preference and which one you like the best. Simply put: $60-100 is going to get you $60-100 worth of performance regardless of what card you choose.
My personal suggestion would be the 6670 since it's the latest model and has such great reviews.
For that price range, this is going to be your sweet spot:

I would suggest you to buy the Sapphire Radeon HD 6770 it only costs $115...it can run battlefield 3 ,crysis 2 better than the hd6670
just save $15 more to buy it
search this on A m a z o n.com <<< had to do that because yahoo answers wont let me type it for some reason

HIS Radeon 6750 at Newegg.com is $99 which is about the best you can get for that price. Tomshardware-- is a great site to compare video cards and Newegg has best prices.
