My older sister is getting married soon. Her future sister in law is throwing her a wedding shower. She is older and more into this sort of thing and also she has an actual career and my other sister and I work part time jobs in food service. We also have to plan a Bachelorette party later. We are younger and more of a get wild kinda party people than she is, so I was thinking that she should do the wedding shower and we would do the Bachelorette party. But I'm worried that since the Bachelorette party is later that it would look tacky not to offer money for the wedding shower.
Also, for the Bachelorette party my sister wants a limo to take us to different clubs around town. Would it be alright to make the other girls pay for their own way to the club or to ask for donations to help cover the cost of the limo?

The future SIL has offered to host the shower, so I doubt she is expecting you to help pay. However if you feel you want to contribute, just put whatever you can afford in an envelope and hand it to her.
For the bach. party, I think usually each bridesmaid pays their own way plus chips in to cover the brides cost. So its probably best to check with all the bridesmaids and get a feel for what they can afford before you lock them into a financial commitment. So talk to the other girls and see what they think.
If you want to host the bach. party that would be very generous of you! Or even if you would just cover the cost of the transportation that would be nice.
Wedding showers and Bridal showers are the same thing I think the only difference that a wedding shower you can invite guys You really do not need a wedding and bridal showers The same people go to both except for guys, and most guys do not want to go to a shower That also go by Jack and Jill shower I had two showers, one for my family in one state and one for my husband family in a different state You can have two showers if the families live in to different area or the Having the same thing calling it a different thing is just odd, you are not inviting the same people are you? Wedding/Bridal shower food You could have a seat meal at a restaurant This way everything is done for you They are fine, you pick food from the menu you can have a house/backyard shower This with food like: deli patter(meat or sandwich), ziti, meatballs, Pasta salad, sauges and peppers, ham, turkey, potato salad. etc It's what you will have at any family party These are more fun, more lay back Bachelorette party's are different from showers They are normal friends and young family member Most are over 21, drinking involved If it's at home, a stripper shows up a lot They go out to night clubs and stuff More like appetizers and party food You only need a shower and a bachelorette party
I think this can go a couple ways for the shower:
The hostess of the party can pay, the bridesmaids can share the costs, and sometimes the moms or very close relatives will chip in as well.
For the Bachelorette - I see no harm in asking all the participants to chip in for the 'event'. Especially when a limo is involved (splitting it makes it easier for everyone to afford).
If you can pay for the limo and misc party supplies then do that, it would be fine for everyone to pay their own way to the clubs. I think the bachelorette party should be more of a group effort since it isn't like you're inviting people to your house.
well if 1 person insists on paying for the whole thing then you are covered.
but generally the costs are split among the bridal party to pay for the shower and party.
see how much the total cost of the shower will be and split it evenly. some times the moms get involved and pick up some of the cost as well.
as for the limo and cover charges.
that could get pricey. it might be best to find out the cover charges for the clubs and the limo and have everyone pool their funds to cover. then designate 1 person as banker to pay for things.
or get up with everyone ahead of time and say lets pool for the limo but it's byo cover charge.
I think it would be fine for the other girls to help pay. The only one who should not have to pay anything is your sister, the one who is getting married. They should understand. Maybe you could do rounds of who pays her cover, since she wants to go a bunch of different clubs that night. I don't really think it's tacky not to offer to pay for anything at the Bridal Shower, especially since you are handling the Bachelortte party, but you may want to make some sort of gesture, like make some kick-a** desserts or a really good signature dish.
dont worry about not being able to financially support the bridal shower, just show up early and help them with whatever they need! as for the bachelorette party, just get a bunch of the girls to go in on it before you guys go out. if you get any problems about it, just mention how you're not made of money and you just want your sister to have a good time!
the bachlorette party everyone pays for themselves and you all chip in to cover the bride. so yes if you get a limo, whoever riding in the limo pays, if you go to a club you all pay your own cover....
the shower, anyone can throw a shower. if someone else wants to plan and throw the shower on their own then let them. if you want to offer to help go ahead, but if they want to do it on their own that's fine too, i'm sure they will bring it up if they expect help in any way from anyone.
YES I would say its okay to ask. Ive been to two recent bachelorette parties....one we had to pay our own taxi fare, own meal cost(plus we split the cost of the bride to be's meal and drinks), and we paid our own way into clubs. The other one I went to we all paid our own way again plus split the cost of the brides meal. For that its totally ok to ask people to pay their own way..as for the shower though, costs are usually up to the wedding party or family.
that is a great question. i think that it's alright to have them contribute, or at least pay their own way. I am having my bridesmaids pay to come to australia, so I am sort of organizing my own bachelorette party so they don't have to pay for it...it's hard since everything costs money!!
