It would be better if they were kinda old and not anything recent. Something that an old female french teacher may like. I take spanish so this is a bit of a problem for me. Thank you!
You can take a song of Edith Piaf (La Vie en Rose, Milord, La Foule, ...). If you really want old songs, Patrick Bruel made an album with songs from the 1920s or 1930s (Mon amant de St Jean, Ménilmontant, La Complainte de la Butte, Que reste-t-il de nos amours...).
Georges Moustaki (Le Facteur, Le Métèque) and Barbara (L'aigle noir, dis quand reviendras-tu, Ma plus belle histoire d'amour, Göttingen,...) also sang nice songs. You'll be able to find everything on Youtube.
