for Cr2O7(-) + 6S2O3(2-) +14H(+) --- > 2Cr(3+) + 3S4O6(2-) + 7H2O , find oxidizing agent.
should be Cr2O7 (-2) for the equation to balance. Cr goes from +6 to +3 during the reaction, and thus is the oxidizing agent. Sulfur is the other specie involved in the electron exchange. I am not sure I like the sulfur product as written.
It's Chromium. Cr goes from +7 to +3 in the equation.
H2O2 is the oxidizing agent. PbS is the reducing agent.
hard task. query on google and yahoo. that may help!
