People change and grow apart, chances are even if you went to the same school, you would grow apart from each other. You should go to your school of choice, remember it's your life and you have to wake up and look at yourself in the mirror each day and be happy with the choices you've made, she has her own stuff to deal with.....and she probably wants you to go along with her as a 'safety net' or 'security blanket' Just tell her that you've reconsidered, and this other school is the best choice for you, and if your friendship is strong enough, it will survive.

you should go to the school you know is better. my friends used to do that. they'd tell me that we should do this or that just so we can be together. but you shouldn't go somewhere just because your friends are going there. what if that school doesn't meet your needs or doesn't have you major? what's more important, your friend who you're having problems with or getting into a good school?

pick the school you want to go to and go. you can't have friends be with you make new ones and move on and keep in touch if they want to. that is how its goes and when you move and move you will run into these people later on in life.

You never really wanted to go to that school anyway-go where its best for you. It doesn't matter what you promised this is your life, besides you'll meet tons of new people anyway.
