On most websites, people have flygon using u-turn, but also using the choice band. I understand the choice band boost for its other offensive moves, but I don't understand why you need u-turn if it has a choice band. I understand the u-turn strategy, but how can you use choice band with it? Isn't it meant to scout other pokemon (which you probably need a couple turns for)?
Update:And why would I ever switch flygon in if it was a bad matchup...

Because a Choiced U-turn does a good amount of damage for free, and you switch into a predicted Ice move which means you just did 30% at the cost of almost nothing. You do not switch Flygon into a bad-matchup. You switch it into a favourable match-up which forces them to switch, meaning you get a U-turn on their new switchin which is weakened and is more favourable to the Pokemon you U-turn into.
I don't think you understand the concept of momentum and Voltturn at all.
yo m-or-on, i know you think you're smart and all, but you're not. there's nothing complicated about using U-turn and choice band, unless you happen to be stupid.
The choice band boosts the power of ALL physical moves on flygon. U-turn is physical and if you get a bad matchup with flygon, use u-turn to deal damage and then it comes back. if you don't think you can outrun the enemy, manually switch. real simple.
