My dad is 6"0 and my mom is 5"3. Last time I went to the pediatrician (2 to 3 years ago) she said that I would likely make it to 5"9 or 5"10 but had the height potential to reach 6 foot, the same height as my dad if I stayed healthy until the end of puberty......... Well......
I'm kind of screwed because I'm 17.5 (5 months away from turning 18) and I'm 5"6 2/4 and I'm WAY off from the predicted height of the pediatrician and I'm kind of ticked. Did I screw up my growth or something or was the pediatrician WAY off when predicting my height?

It's funny that you think that predicting your future through genes is 100% accurate. The only thing that genes can say for sure is that you will resemble your parents and nothing else. I am taller than my parents, hairier than my dad, I have a widows peak, hitchhikers thumb, different thought processes, different eye color and the list goes on
There is a reason that we say "Doctors are practitioners of medicine."
The reason is because doctors practice medicine. They PRACTICE a lot. If they keep PRACTICING then one day they'll eventually get it right.
ANSWER: Medicine is an inexact science. It can't be compared to mathematics which has RULES i.e. Your pediatrician was obviously WRONG. Stop thinking that you're at fault for another's inaccurate PREDICTION. Unless she gave you a legal document stating that you'd grow. Did he or she??
First off, you'll probably keep growing for a few more years, and guessing something based off parents is never going to be 100% reliable because the human body can be unpredictable sometimes. Don't worry about it anyway though, he was only off by a few inches anyway.
See how valuable predictions are?
Nobody knows how tall you will eventually be - not even your pediatrician.
Genetics rule - you cannot re-program genetics.
You cannot MAKE yourself grow taller.
You will not finish puberty until at least age 21 - or later.
More growth could be headed your way - nobody knows for sure.
You just need to be patient - and wait to see what all develops.
Your perfect if you're a guy is that you will be between you dad's perfect and 5 inches over you mom's perfect if you're a lady you'd be between you mom's perfect and 5 inches decrease than your father on regularly occurring
dont worry because most men keeps on growing until they reach the age of 21.
