Granted, he isn't what he used to be, not consistency wise at least. But it seems that he has been having one of my favorite films of the year, each year, for a while.
2006: The Good Shepard
2007: Stardust
2008: What Just Happened?
2009: Everybody's Fine
2010: Machete and Little Fockers
Now, I realize those films are Taxi Driver/Raging Bull/Goodfellas quality. Not even close. But I find them all to be VERY enjoyable. I love them all actually. On top of that, he has Meet The Parents/Fockers, The Score, Analyze That, etc.
I just think he's a bit underrated in the 00s. He still gives great performances, just because they aren't Oscar worthy films doesn't mean they're bad. Anyone agree?
BQ: What is the general consensus on Stone? What'd you think of it?
BQ2: Is Jon Avnet the worst director of all-time? Or, at least, the worst person of all time? I mean, anyone who makes a Pacino/De Niro collaboration BAD just deserves to go to jail. And on top of that he made the horrible 88 Minutes. Ugh.

Kind of. I mean he's still been doing some very solid movies but because none of them are Scorsese quality people just discredit everything he does saying he's sold out and only works for a pay check (which is probably true to a degree.. the paycheck that is, not selling out).
He was terrific in Everybody's Fine... The Good Shepard was really good as well. Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers are great. Machete and Limitless are good. I thought Little Fockers was crap. Well actually I never finished it... I got about half way through and said "f*** it". It took me a while before I could forgive De Niro for that honestly. But yeah, I agree. He deserves more credit for his work the past decade than he's been getting.
He has so many potentially great projects coming up in the next three years. I think the 2010s will be great for him. Or at least the first half of it will be.
BQ: I haven't seen it man. I will check it out sooner or later though.
BQ2: Fck him. Sorry, but seriously... Anybody who gets De Niro and Pacino together for a movie and yet can't even make that movie relatively decent is sht. I mean the actors get some responsibility for choosing to do it, but still... I kind of wonder why Al Pacino did the movie more than De Niro though. I mean he worked with Avnet before... Did he just never watch 88 Minutes?Read the reviews? I don't know.. but yeah, he's terrible.
I certainly have not considered his very early classics, so my fav’s so as may well be warmth, the score, and ineffective night run. ballot: Al Pacino. while i replace into little, I watched "fragrance of a woman" with my acquaintances. i certainly theory Al Pacino replace into blind! he's a superb actor.
i think his last really great performance was cape fear. he's been quite funny since then and he's also done some real rubbish. i think he just lost his edge. he got into production and other things away from acting. heat was good.
he not thuglife westside
