In my opinion, the schools in America are the MOST in need of privatization.
If taxes were given back to parents in the form of vouchers for each school age child they have, the parent were given the choice to use in whichever school they choose (or homeschooling) quality of education in theis country would skyrocket.
A voucher really doesn't let you keep your money does it? You will still be required to pay your taxes. It just gives you the right to have the govt. send your money to the school of your choice on behalf of your son or daughter I think.
I paid for the private education of my children. When you are old enough to get married and have children of your own there is no reason why you should not pay for their education as well. You want the government to pay, what are you some kind of a parasite or something?
What happens to your local schools if all the top students are pulled out? This might not be a good thing overall for our students. I, and my children, went to public schools and went on to good colleges and good jobs. It can be done.
MY tax money should not be used to send your kid to private school. If you want to privatize all education that would be fine with me. I'm already paying enough to support your kids!
No vouchers. I went to a Catholic school for grades 7-8 and it was such a Joke. Whilst other kids my age were learning useful things like basic Algebra and Geometry in Public Schools, I was learning a bunch of fairy tales from a 2,000 year old novel.
And while we sat in freezing cold classrooms in the winter, they spent $6m on a new church with stadium seating and cushy pews. (oh, and the church had been renovated only 8 years prior, too.)

Yes. But better than vouchers would be to privatize education.

Yes
Nope. Public schools should get the "public" money. My parents paid for my education in parochial schools, they didn't whine about it either.
No!
The last place we need "free-market capitalism" in in schooling. The children will suffer.
