Came home and was taking dog out of crate and she had diarrhea and vomited in her crate. I gave her a bath, then took her out where she puked yellow liquid and had thickesh brown pastey diarrhea.
I cleaned her crate, put her back in. She did not have any problems with vomiting or diarrhea (1 hour) while I cleaned her crate. She ate a little food before I put her back in her crate.
I have only had her about 2 weeks, but when I got her shots a week ago they said she seemed healthy. What should I do for her right now, and when should I take her to the vet (they are closed right now).
I would like to take her outside often right now just in case, but there is a horrible thunderstorm and she won't go out.
I ran out of dry food and had given her canned dog food starting a couple days ago, and her stools were a bit looser than normal last night and this morning. Could this be due to simply changing foods too quickly?

Most likely you changed the food way to fast and the result is digestive upset, put her on a diet of boiled plain hamburger or chicken with plain white rice mixed in,and than in 24 hours start adding her original food back in slowly,if her symptoms do not improve, get worse or new symptoms arise, get her to a vet ASAP.
When you change a dogs food too quickly, it doesn't give their body enough time to adjust. Dog's stomach's can be really sensitive, and my dog had the same symptoms when we changed his food quickly a long time ago. You are supposed to change food slowly over a week or two. Very gradually. so i think that's the problem. you can call the vet and ask them tomorrow just to be sure. it doesn't cost anything to call :)
