I don't know about giving suggestions with meaning seen as I haven't lived your life, so we may interpret things diferently. But if you want something girly with an edge, you could have something like a bow tattoo that lots of girls have, but it could be ripped and ragged, or have chains draped over it or something. Or you could have a rose and the leaves on the stem could be made out of word that mean things to you, or even the pettals if you have a good artist.
