Has anyone ever read "TIMELINE" by Michael Crichton?
I'm working on a short essay about the book Timeline, this is what its about
One of the first differences the team noticed after arriving in 1357 was the lack of ambient noise--the silence. Then, when they rested in the abandoned hut and had field greens for breakfast, Chris felt happier than he could remember feeling in a long time. What do you think made him feel this way. Discuss 14th century simplicity vs. the complexity of our contemporary culture.

Ah yes great book by the late great Michael Crichton.
I believe he is just taking it all in. Obviously the 1300's is a bit different than the world he just came from. The absence of modern technology is major factor here (no cars, cell phones, computers). It is a much more simple time, where people still interact with one another. Its a place where you can sit back and relax and enjoy your surroundings. So often we are lost in the hustle and bustle of today's busy world.
