I have been diagnosed with migraines and put on Topomax. I've been on it for the past 2 years and it's really helped. I can't take the medicine to get rid of the migraines because they knock me out (I've tried maybe 12 or so)...Here's my issue: recently I've been getting fast and hard headaches. I can be fine one minute and 5 minutes later, I'm completely sick. Before, they would come gradually and I could nip it in the bud before I got too sick. I've never had much aura associated with my migraines, and I'm getting it more frequently now (I haven't had aura for 2-3 years, now I've had it twice in the last month). I know I should go back to the doctor, but I want to go armed with everything I can. I've heard about a link between epilepsy and migraines with aura. Does anyone know more information about this link and could it be possible that I am having mini seizures rather than just typical migraines?

I doubt it. But maybe if you experienced the correct symptoms for a mini-siezure then perhaps. The link I used as a source doesn't say anything about headaches in a mini-seizure. I myself get migraines. Years ago I began having very intense headaches without aura (I usually have visual auras, with sensitivity to smell) that came on suddenly felt kinda like a migraine and would last for hours. Not sure what they are. I always just thought they were tension headaches. But perhaps they're something else.
