Switzerland is very expensive that's right. But it depends on what do you want to invest. Feel free to contact me - I'll try to help you...
Try http://www.hrs.de/ (change the Deutsch button to English and be aware that the prices are shown in Euro if you don't change the currency to CHF) for hotels- you will not find cheaper ones than there. I would recommend the regions Grindelwald - Lauterbrunnen http://www.grindelwald.travel/en/welcome.cfm? or Arosa http://www.arosa.ch/en/welcome.cfm? or Interlaken http://www.interlaken.ch/index.php?id=53&L=3 or Zweisimmen http://www.gstaad.ch/en/doerfer/zweisimmen.htm (Gstaad is more expensive)

No such thing as an inexpensive trip to Switzerland, as far as I know, but you can cut costs a lot by not staying in the main cities or the best known resort towns and instead in smaller towns/villages nearby. Switzerland's great rail system will still allow you to visit the bigger cities/resorts if you want to, and the smaller places are actually more honeymoon-suitable, at least for my tastes. Example: instead of St. Moritz, stay in a place like Zuoz, a more charming and traditional little Swiss village very close by. This place was very nice when I was there several years ago:

Also: Everything will be cheaper in the shoulder seasons than in mid-summer or ski season, but of course you'll have to take into account the weather and available activities. Early summer and early fall are probably your best bets, on balance.
