I’m in the serving industry and I am one of the best servers at my restaurant. My manager loves me and always tell other people about me because I always have the top sales. About a few months ago, there was a new girl that got transferred over here from another restaurant. She’s 17 and I’m 21. From the moment I met her, I just didn’t like her. We do not vibe well and no matter how hard I try to be nice to her, we just don’t vibe well. Well, she tries to get really close to all the bartenders and tries to fit in. Everyone else is like in their late 20s. Last night, she accused me of stealing tables because I had more tables than everyone else. Everyone else had 4 tables and I had like 7. My regulars came in and requested for me, so that’s one extra table and another server gave me her party because she didn’t want it. And I guess I got double sat after that. Then she went and told everyone that I was stealing tables and it got me really upset. I went into the bathroom and bawled my eyes out for 10 mins. This morning, I went to work and nobody talked to me. Should I quit? What should I do in this situation?

How can anyone "vibe" with you when you already made up your mind you didn't like her. You sound threatened and jealous. You don't like it that she wants or "tries" to fit in? Wow. You should be her mentor, you should help her learn the ropes, THAT is a good employee. Not someone that gets all bent out of shape because a new employee was hired. Sounds like you made this bed now you get to lie in it. Good luck.
Just ignore them and do your job. You're there to please your customers not your immature co-workers. if you let them bother you it will start to show in how you work. best of luck.
I'm sure your colleagues will soon realize what she is like and eventually she will be known as a gossip and person not to trust.
Concentrate on the job in hand. You do not have to answer for, or be buddy/buddy with others. But, do be courteous
That type will find another victim soon. Just tough it out, and hold your head up.
Also, from what I've seen, those who watch what others are doing in order to make trouble don't concentrate on their jobs. She'll probably be screwing up orders, and customers will become unhappy.
Difficult as it is I would rise above it and grit your teeth. By walking out you are
showing weakness and the vulnerability they are trying to take advantage of.
Be positive and carry on with a happy and good natured attitude, anyone
who challenged this is not worth the dirt on your shoes.
