I get the above message when I try and load or reload Windows 7 into my laptop. Everything was running sluggish and then my computer froze. When I restarted I got the above message and the machine hasn't loaded windows since. I'm suspecting it could be a virus that is starting before windows loads into the machine?
I understand it is an Acer back up partition. My back up disk doesn't work nor does a fresh copy of Wndows 7 that my mate leant me. I don't mind reverting back to Windows XP which I tried but my computer won't let me delete any partitions from the system.
My laptop is
EMachine G640
P320 AMD Athlone IIx2
ATI Radeon HD 4250
3GB Ram (Which I removed each stick and tried to run as a possible solution which I googled)
I'd like to get Windows 7 running (it's an OEM version) but failing that I can revert back to XP if I have to.

If you get something like ACRONIS DISK DIRECTOR
load it onto a friends computer
In the Tools menu (I think ) you can create a boot cd which will boot then load into disk director
Put this into your computer and boot up on the cd.
Acronis disk director will load and allow you to delete/create/reformat/resize partitions cos windows aint loaded yet
(If you also get ACRONIS TRUE IMAGE and load this into the same computer then you can create a boot cd where you can select either DISK DIRECTOR or TRUE IMAGE)
(I dont know if both bits of software are still available - I have been using both for years)
TRUE IMAGE allows you to create/restore backup disk images to/from internal or external drives or usb sticks)
