Listerine??
ok i use listerine anti-septic, an i dont do it for a logn time, just like 2-4 minutes, 5 max, anyway when im done my gums get really lite pink, like how cocassion people have it, (im indian from india) and i do have gum disease, but i get them cleaned an healthy and stuff, they barely bleed now, but like 5 minutes after mouth wash, the lite lite pinkness goes away an back to regular lite pink gums
Update:so i will do listerine for only 30 sec frmo now on thanks, lol someone said it was fake haha

umm... you're not supposed to wash for that long. 30 secs is good enough.
Listerine is powerful. The commercials and the bottle say to use it for only 30 seconds. You're not doing your gums any good by using it longer. It has already killed all the bacteria in your mouth after half a minute.. Anything you do after that is just irritating your gums.
Hi! I have been in dentistry for over 25 years and I would advise you to stop rinsing so long with Listerine. Not only is is caustic to the gum tissue, it has alcohol that can dry out the membrane and cause gum recession. This is going to make the issues with your gums worse NOT better. You gums have hundreds of small capillaries that bring nurishing blood to help heal the gums. By rinsing for so long you are "burning" the gums and compromising the effectiveness of the small veins to do their job. Please stop now. Good oral hygiene is a soft tooth brush, floss and a simple mouth rinse of warm salty water would do more than the listerine. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
It is probably the alcohol in the Listerine that is making your gums pink. Keep up with the rinsing though, it will make your gums nice and healthy.
Try not using listerine for over 30 sec.
5 min. is way too long.

I don't usually use it for that long (usually 30 seconds to a minute), but then again my gums aren't infected.
Normal....it's the chemical reaction in the Listerine....if you are worried ask your dentist.
Listerine is fake!
