Schmeling knocked out a close to prime Joe Louis, also he fought in a tougher era against better opposition, so I pick him to beat Berbick. Berbick was a decent fighter but his best win was against a nearly 40 year old Muhammad Ali who was showing the first signs of Parkinson's Syndrome. He beat Pinklon Thomas in one out of two fights for the heavyweight title, but lost to Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Carl Williams, Buster Douglas and Renaldo Snipes, his record against world class opposition isn't the greatest with all due respect. He did have a good chin though, only being stopped twice, once by Mike Tyson, so I don't think Schmeling would KO him, but would win a clear cut decision.
