Help :'( I just want to play minecraft with my friend but every time she trys to join, it says can not connect to server! I've done all that complicated crap dealing with opening the port and what not. I've found out my IP and my external IP but I guess I'm just missing one step somewhere...I don't know, please just list all your ideas on what's wrong. Oh and she's in Alabama while I'm in Louisiana, distance has nothing to do with it...right? If you do come up with a solution, please list the steps in which to do it. Thanks.

It depends. Does she have the FULL version of minecraft? If she doesn't you need to go to the server.txt and change the online mode from true to false. also not working? copy and paste your IP where it says ip-address: (Your IP). remember you cant close the server window and the server must be in a folder. Hope it helps! -EpikzGamer
Any person is in your account on a server on the second, so sure, you're going to had been hacked until you are on one different server at the moment; that you could first-rate go shopping once at a time on your account. Change your password and migrate your Minecraft account you probably have not yet.
One way to try do it is to get one of your friends to create the server it sounds to me that your internet isn't the greatest for game sharing... Sorry. If this doesn't work try using server creating software.
