When I first start it, the idle shoots up to about 2000 rpm, then it drops so low it keeps shutting off like at stop lights, and when I try to accelerate. There is also white smoke coming out of the tailpipe. I just recently had a new head gasket put on and new spark plugs. It doesn't happen everytime I drive it, just randomly, but tonight I had trouble keeping it running at a red light and the check engine light came on. I'm concerned because my tags expire next Weds, and I have to get thru a inspection....Thanks for any insights as to what could be causing the problem so I at least know where to start and if its going to be another expensive fix :-(
