Do not put another bird in the cage as it probably will kill the babies. Best to leave the feeding to the mother, making sure she has plenty of the right kind of food. Millet sprays are a really good way to augment the mommas diet while feeding young. Another way is to hand feed the babies with a syringe and baby bird food (available at your pet store), but this will upset the momma bird. Hope this helps, and sorry about losing your bird. Good luck...
I wouldnt stick another male bird in the cage because I would say there is a good chance that he would kill the babies. I really doubt that he would try to father them.
The birds shouldnt have a problem coping by themselves- in the wild you need a mum and dad to care for the babies but when they are pets there should be plenty of food avaliable so mum wont have to go far for food. If you really want to help them, you can keep the cage inside so it doesnt get too cold and make sure there is always plenty of fresh food and water avaliable.
Don't put another male in the cage, he will kill the chicks to mate with the female. The mum should be fine raising the chicks by herself. But, if she abandons the chicks or looks like she's struggling go and get advice from you vet.
Do not put another bird inside the cage. Depending upon the species, the female most likely be able to raise them also. It is you only option,
i don't think that is going to do any good. instade you should remove the new bird, because he may kill the babies. by the way i am not sure if only the mother can raise the babies. why don't you hand feed them
That wouldn't be a good idea. These babies and their mother are not his, and so this could cause territorial problems. See how they get on, and any problems you should talk to you avian vet.
