It still works a bit but, ONLY IF IT WANTS TO! I would put a game in and when the disc tray would close it would read the disc and then do nothing. It would just ask if I wanted to close the tray back up or not. It would take about 20-30- Countless attempts until the game finally worked or I would just give up. On top of that the disc trey doesn't close properly sometimes doesn't open (it would only come out a tiny bit and stop I would have to physically go and pull the disc tray a bit so it could actually open.) Then when I try to close it back up it doesn't close sometimes until i manually close it. What should I do? and if I have to go to Gamestop to fix it how much would this cost?

You're experiencing an open tray error. What you are going to want to do is have some place like Gamestop fix it. Although, It will cost $99. This type of error is not covered by a warranty. If you are that committed to your Xbox, you would pay the fee.
You have 3 options.
1. Look online for guides on how to fix it yourself (but i wouldnt recommend this if u go with number 3)
2. Pay 100 bucks to get it fixed.
3. Force rrod on ur 360 so it would then be covered by the warranty and they send u a new one :)
