I suggest you retrace your steps and research first on how to run a magazine business.
Here are some steps to starting a magazine:
1. Conceptualize your magazine - what is its editorial voice, what types of information should it have, who should it be for
2. Determine how large (or small) your target audience - this can help you determine the viability of your idea. You don't want to start a magazine where only you and 2 friends would be interested in
3. Decide your revenue model - should it be by subscription or should it be by advertising, or both. If by advertising, you can sell ads in-house (you will have a team actually presenting your magazine to potential advertisers and selling ad space) or outsource the process by hiring sales reps
4. Write your business plan to help you think through your idea
5. Gather a team to help you create your magazine (ad sales, layout, editorial team, printing, etc.) and decide whether to outsource or do in-house some of the processes involved.
You're publishing. why not make it an on line magazine - do a "group" of contacts in Outlook or Outlook Express. That's your readership. Design a letterhead for your on line magazine and give it some content. Alternatively, you could publish using a website. Either way, advertisers are called affiliates. Look on any web site at the bottom of the web page for the word affiliates and see if they want affiliates or use an agency. Learn your skills designing websites using free space like 250free - it's free because it full of advertising! NVU is a freeware web design program you can download. You need a media kit with rates for ads and information on the numbers and demographics/psychographics of your readers.
Go to any magazine's website and look for the advertise or media kit link to see an example.
