So most of us know that Mitch is rex's dad already, I have been watching for about 2 years and I dnt really know much about mitch but I have heard some cruel things about him, so I just want to get some of your own opinions about what are the upsides and downsides about rex having mitch as a father? Oh and a lot of people are saying that they feel bad for rex to give him a break, and dnt get me wrong I agree but there is somebody else that they need to give a break; Shane. I mean c'mon hasn't the kid had enough are the writers just trying to ruin his life, he has asthma, he had cancer, he has an evil aunt, his parents may be or may not be breaking up, and now he has a evil grandparent what are they trying to do to him let's just hope jessica doesn't go tess on him lol (joke) I'm pretty sure she won't

I agree with you totally about Shane. That kid grew up without a father and now Gigi and Rex should be together and be good parents to him.
As for Mitch, he was a cult leader, murderer, just an evil SOB. Poor Rex deserves a better father. At least he has Bo as a father figure.
I like Mitch being Rex's dad because that makes Rex and Jessica siblings. It's a nice use of history because Rex was actually introduced because Jessica thought he was her brother when she thought Roxy was her mom. Then, you add that Natalie and Rex being raised as brother and sister, and you end up with a sibling triangle of sorts. Natalie already feels like second fiddle to Jessica, like Jessica gets all the attention and love, and got to be raised by their mom (and Natalie's dad), and now Jessica is going to get the one thing Natalie had, her brother.
It's also a satisfying answer to the question. It makes total sense that Mitch would be evil enough for Roxy to keep the secret from Rex about it.
Poor Shane, though. But he gains an aunt and a cousin. And maybe if Jessica ever marries Brody, he'll get Brody as an uncle, and they were always close.
Mitch is one super evil SOB! That said, Jessica has done remarkably well having been born of his seed so I am sure Rex will come out of this realization ok in the end. You should pick up the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest to read up on the evilness of Mitch thru the years. As for Shane, I agree with everything you said, the poor kid has been through a lot and probably wishes he could run back in time to Paris Texas!!!
Mitch Laurence is pure evil! Here's his history if you want to read it:

The only upside to him being Rex's father is that Jessica is his half-sister and maybe the Bucs will be closer to him now. I HATED that they made him Jessica's father! And I do feel sorry for Rex as well, but at least he's finding out as a grown man and Mitch can't influence his life. Unlike Jess he never knew his father so he won't have the pain she had of finding out that Clint wasn't her biological dad. And, you're right, Shane really deserves a break- poor kid!
The only thing good that I can see about Rex being Mitch's son is that Jessica will be his sister. I agree with everyone else I don't think it should affect Rex negatively. He's a big boy. I do think Shane could use a break for sure. I hope his parents get their acts together for his sake.
Mitch Laurence is a horrible person and I understand why Roxy kept this secret from Rex. On the plus side Rex gets a biological half-sister out of the deal and Shane get another aunt.
I don't think it will effect Rex much, he was never raised by him and is far too old to start being father son with Mitch now. Jessica has had to deal with it and so he has her to lean on now. Shane does need a break! That kid is going to need to be put into therapy for a very long time.
AMC- it fairly is a tie between Colby and Scott, the two are so stiff and unemotional OLTL- Stacy, of direction! SO happy that she'll finally be long gone quickly! GH- Lisa! the only rationalization for her character is to reason hardship between Robin and Patrick. She's genuinely gotta go.
